The PinchukArtCentre presents “How the Work is Done” by Agnieszka Polska – the second one-week solo exhibition in the context of Transfer. Transfer isan exchange programme to promote and support new generation of Ukrainian artists abroad and to offer a dynamic view on young Polish art in Ukraine. This is a common project of the PinchukArtCentre and the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle (Warsaw, Poland).

In her film works Agnieszka Polska develops an advanced structure of narration combined with a deep research for an own specific visual language. The PinchukArtCentre presents three of her recent videos How the Work is Done (2011), The Garden (2010), My Favorite Things (2010). These works deal with research on identity and value and include to some extend examination of the figure of the artist.

With Agnieszka Polska we welcome one of the youngest Polish artists. She is not only shown in this exchange exhibition but is nominated for the Future Generation Art Prize. Polska develops a unique visual vocabulary combining research of narration with sublime visual language. A combination of some of her older work is a perfect window to the new work which will be presented at the Future Generation Art Prize show starting from October 27, 2012.

Björn Geldhof, Artistic manager of the PinchukArtCentre, curator of the show

The exhibition is organised and co-curated by Lizaveta German, participant of the PinchukArtCentre’s Curatorial Platform. The show is open on the 5th floor in the PAC-UA space from 4 until 9 September 2012.
