Workshop “Feelings by Touch” — DIY Program
On Wednesday, August 5 at 6:30 PM, we invite you to the workshop “Feelings by Touch,” part of the DIY program, where together with psychologist Olena Cherepanova we will create paintings from wool.
Wool is one of the warmest and softest materials. Working with wool through touch brings you back to the body and to feeling, at moments when words can’t keep up with emotions: here you can simply knead, twist, and layer it — and watch as an image is born. This technique allows you to give shape to your own feelings — to translate what is hard to put into words into image, color, and texture.
During the workshop you will:
- get to know the technique of working with wool;
- create a composition — a tactile imprint of your own feelings, which you can keep;
- connect with other participants through a shared creative process.
The workshop requires no prior experience or skill in working with the material. The event will take place on the 5th floor, in the educational space of PinchukArtCentre. Participation is free. Places are limited. Registration is required.
Olena Cherepanova is a family and child psychologist, and head of the charitable organization “Ye-Kontakt.”
The DIY* program is a platform for turning ideas into reality, where people with different experiences share what matters to them, and the art center’s team helps bring these ideas to life. It’s a space for experimentation and shared creativity, where you can make something with your own hands and meet people with similar interests.
*DIY (Do It Yourself) — literally, “make it yourself.”
