PinchukArtCentre to hold ‘Night at the Museum on May 18, as part of the China China exhibition opening

The PinchukArtCentre invites visitors to the Night at the Museum which will take place on May 18 as part of the China China exhibition opening and international event Night of Museums. Especially for the admirers of the contemporary art and those who want to be the first to see exhibition of the Chinese artists, the art centre will stay open until 24:00. The visitors arriving to the event dressed in pyjamas will be offered priority entry to the art centre.

At the event the guests will have an opportunity to join late night tours of the exhibition lead by the PinchukArtCentre guides who will present the works of art by the Chinese artists, including those of Ai Weiwei, Cao Fei, Chen Zhen, Sun Xun, Sun Yuan & Peng Yu, Xu Zhen, Yan Xing, Yang Fudong, Zhang Huan, Zhao Yao, Zhao Zhao.

Furthermore, the PinchukArtCentre visitors will be offered a unique chance to be photographed in front of the presented art objects. The pictures will be taken by professional photographers of the art centre. All event attendees will receive high resolution photos in a digital format.

In addition, especially for the admirers of Ai Weiwei art, there will be a screening of the documentary Ai WeiWei: Never Sorry. This is the first feature-length film about the internationally renowned Chinese artist and activist Ai Weiwei. The film examines the complex intersection of artistic practice and social activism as seen through the life and art of China’s preeminent contemporary artist. Also, this documentary created by film director and journalist Alison Klayman provides a nuanced exploration of contemporary China. The film screening is supported by the Docudays UA International Human Rights Documentary Film Festival.
