Press preview of the exhibition of the shortlisted artists for the PinchukArtCentre Prize 2015 and "Patriots, Citizens, Lovers...", solo Exhibition of Carlos Motta

Dear friends,

PinchukArtCentre, Kyiv, Ukraine, kindly invites you to the Press Preview of the two parallel exhibitions that will take place on Thursday, 29 October 2015 at 12:00:

  • A group exhibition of 16 young Ukrainian artists shortlisted for the fourth edition of the PinchukArtCentre Prize that presents specially produced new works;
  • “Patriots, Citizens, Lovers...”, a solo exhibition by Columbian artist Carlos Motta - one of the Future Generation Art Prize 2014 Main Award winners. Produced with funds from the Future Generation Art Prize, the project was developed in conversation with Ukrainian journalist Maxim Ivanukha and is composed of ten urgent interviews with Ukrainian LGBTI and queer activists who discuss the critical and dire situation of lesbian, gay, trans and intersex lives in Ukraine in times of a war.  

The 16 nominees for the PinchukArtCentre Prize 2015 were shortlisted by an independent Selection Committee from about 800 applicants and include: Yevgenia Belorusets, Daniil Galkin, Mykola Karabinovych, Alina Kleitman, Daria Koltsova, Kinder Album, Sergii Melnychenko, Roman Mykhailov, Sergiy Petlyuk, Mykola Ridnyi, Ivan Svitlychnyi, Sergiy Yakimenko, Kateryna Yermolaeva, Anna Zvyagintseva, Melnychuk-Burlaka Group, and Open Group.

Following the press conference, there will be an exhibition tour guided by curators and artists.

Press-view program:

  • 11:30 – 12:00 – registration on the 1st floor of the PinchukArtCentre;
  • 12:00 – 12:30 – press conference on the 6th floor;
  • 12:30 – 15:30 – exhibitions preview guided by curators and artists.
