Alevtina Kakhidze’s house in the village of Muzychi, Kyiv region, is located next to an identical house belonging to her neighbors. Every Monday, the residents of that house would invite a cleaner, whom the artist began to closely observe and imitate. This marked the beginning of a series of unsanctioned cleaning performances that emerged from her domestic routine. She tried to precisely replicate the cleaner’s actions and their sequence, and by the end of the day, she felt fatigue not from the housework itself, but from the meticulous imitation of another person’s movements. These performances were not documented, and each remained a one-time work, impossible to repeat: each new cleaning became an entirely new artwork.

The only evidence of the performances was a set of drawings depicting the houses and the women performing actions around them, accompanied by written reflections by the artist about the series.
