On April 28 the PinchukArtCentre stops applications for the PinchukArtCentre Prize 2013 - a nationwide prize in contemporary art to young Ukrainian artists. On-line submission of works for the competition is ongoing at prize.pinchukartcentre.org

Over two and a half month of the application process the majority of the applications came from the following regions: Kyiv region (40,4%), Lviv region (8,5%) and Kharkiv (8,1%). Artists representing nearly all parts of Ukraine have now joined the competition: Odessa Region (4,4%), Donetsk Region (4,1%), Dnipropetrovsk Region (3,7%), Vinnytsia Region (3%), Zakarpattia (2,6 %), Ivano-Frankivsk Region (2,2%), Ternopil Region (1,9%), Zaporizhzhia Region (1,9%), Chernivtsi Region (1,5%), Kirovohrad Region (1,5%), Luhansk Region (1,5%), Poltava Region (1,5%), Kherson Region (1,5%), Khmelnytsk Region (1,5%), Cherkasy Region (1,5%), Mykolaiv Region (1,1%), Sumy Region (1,1%), Zhytomyr Region (0,7%), Chernihiv Region (0,4%) and Crimea (4,8%).

The PinchukArtCentre Prize is a biannual prize awarded to the best Ukrainian artists up to 35, starting from 2009. Artists with Ukrainian citizenship working with any genre of contemporary art, including painting, photography, video, sculpture, installation, documents and etc., may apply for the competition.

The Main Prize, two Special Prizes and the "Public Choice Prize" shall be awarded within the framework of the PinchukArtCentre Prize:

  • The Main Prize includes UAH 100 000 and artist-in-residency program. The winner is automatically included in the shortlist of the Future Generation Art Prize 2014.
  • Two Special Prizes include UAH 25 000 each and artist-in-residency programs.
  • The Public Choice Prize is UAH 10 000. The winner of the Public Choice Prize shall be determined by votes of the visitors attending the exhibition of the shortlisted artists.

The exhibition of the nominees will open at the PinchukArtCentre on October 26, 2013 and will last till January 5, 2014. 

The winners of the Main and Special Prizes will be awarded by the International Jury of PinchukArtCentre Prize in December 2013. The winner of the Public Choice Prize will be determined by voting of the visitors attending the exhibition.
