The 4th literature night “Modern Art and Literature: Territory of Contact -3” will take place at the PinchukArtCentre on June 24

On Friday, 24 June 2011, the PinchukArtCentre invites all contemporary art and literature lovers to take part in the fourth literature night entitled “Modern Art and Literature: territory of contact – 3”. The event will start at 21:00 on the 2ndfloor of the PinchukArtCentre in the room with the works of art by Olafur Eliasson. On this day the art centre will be open till 23:00. Admission is FREE.

The project is designed to initiate dialogue between art and literature, demonstrate art works in literature context and create a specific outlook upon the works by the showcased artists. The events are conducted with participation of Ukrainian authors and art institutions. 

The event will feature TV presenter from STB channel Grygory Reshetnyk, choreographic duet “The Dreams”, poetess Bohdana Matiash and writer Yuriy Izdryk.

“Modern Art and Literature: territory of contact – 3”event program

21:00-21:10 – viewers meet next to the works by Olafur Eliasson, 2nd floor. Introduction by Oleksandr Mykhed, event curator;
21:10 – 21:20 – TV presenter Grygory Reshetnyk reads fragments from the poem by an English poet and Noble Prize winner T.S. Eliot “The Love Song of J Alfred Prufrock” (3rd floor, next to the work of art by O. Eliasson “Your blind movement”);
21:20 – 21:35 – experimental performance of “The Dreams” and Grygory Reshetnyk, based on H.C. Andersen’s fairy tale “The Shadow” (4th floor, next to the work by O. Eliasson “Your uncertain shadow”);
21:35 – 22:30 – performance of Bohdana Matiash and Yuriy Izdryk (4th floor, next to the work by O. Eliasson “Beauty”);
22:30 – 23:00 – interaction and Q&A session.
