PinchukArtCentre together with Cultural Project to present free lectures within “China China” exhibition

In September 2013, the PinchukArtCentre together with the Cultural Project will present free lectures as part of China China - a large-scale group exhibition of Chinese artists from different generations. This educational program is designed to familiarize audience with contemporary Chinese artists and to provide the most complete picture of the art of the country from ancient times to its present form. Lectures will take place in the “Educational Room” on the 5th floor of the PinchukArtCentre.

The course will begin with the block of lectures on the history of China, which will help to understand the conditions of formation of the contemporary art environment of the country. Lecturers will introduce students to the characteristics of the development of religion, art and architecture of China, and lift the veil on life of imperial houses.

The second part of the course will be devoted to today's China: Cultural Revolution and censorship in contemporary art. In addition, students will become familiar with the personalities and work of the leading artists working in accordance with the requirements put forward by the contemporary art world.
