PinchukArtCentre joined #empty global Instagram movement

One day before the official opening of the exhibition of 16 nominees for the PinchukArtCentre Prize 2015 and Carlos Motta project "Patriots. Citizens. Lovers..." PinchukArtCentre and a group of selected Instagram users from the Ukrainian Instagram segment joined the #empty global event. Within the event framework, 14 Instagrammers made closed shooting of new expositions and interiors of PinchukArtCentre in the night-time, when there was not a single visitor. All photos will be available in Instagram network under the hashtag #emptyPinchukArtCentre.

The goal of #empty movement is to promote contemporary art and museums through the popular Instagram photo format that provides an opportunity to examine artworks and object architecture using author’s shooting styles of each Instagrammer. icipants made night shooting at such leading museums, theaters and cultural institutions as Tate Modern, London (#emptyTate); Louvre, Paris (#emptyLouvre); Guggenheim Museum, New York (#emptyGuggenheim); Hermitage, St. Petersburg (#emptyHermitage); Royal Opera House, London (#emptyROH); Bolshoi Theatre, Moscow (#emptyBolshoi); National Gallery of Scotland, Edinburgh (#emptyScotmodern), etc.

The whole team of Instagram users, who took part in #emptyPinchukArtCentre event, was dressed in Fashion Aid T-shirts of Elena Pinchuk ANTIAIDS charity project that allows anyone willing to make a contribution to help HIV-positive children and combat HIV/AIDS epidemic in Ukraine.

The list of Instagrammers, who joined the event, includes @4ndrewmk, @taras_y, @annaremarchuk, @malinovskyy_v, @derzhanovskaya, @s.klim, @rybchynskyy, @templamentis, @ystrelnikov, @vanya_vanya, @annhedg, @dannyzealand, @himich_a, @velwe.

The total number of Instagram followers of #emptyPinchukArtCentre movement participants comprises over 500,000 people.

The exhibition of 16 shortlisted artists for PinchukArtCentre Prize 2015 and Carlos Motta project “Patriots, Citizens, Lovers...” - a solo exhibition by a Columbian artist and one of the Future Generation Art Prize 2014 Main Award winners - will be on display in PinchukArtCentre from October 31, 2015 till January 10, 2016.

Opening hours: Tuesday through Sunday from 12:00 until 21:00.

Fashion AID is the Ukraine's first online charity shop that allows anyone willing to make a contribution to help HIV-positive children and combat HIV/AIDS epidemic in Ukraine. This social brand, founded by Elena Pinchuk ANTIAIDS Foundation, offers to purchase stylish T-shirt with safe sex-themed limited edition prints. The Foundation expends raised funds on medicines and toiletries for HIV-positive children and specialized medical institutions, where they are treated. Besides that one can make a gift to a HIV-positive child, donate money or give something to a family that raises a child with HIV infection at the website.
