The PinchukArtCentre has started posting online comic strips “Art in Quarantine”, inciting Ukrainians to follow the quarantine rules and to get familiar with art. For now, two educational drawing series are available on the art centre’s pages on Facebook and Instagram social networks.
The first one, employing the example of interacting with art, reminds of the safety rules under the COVID-19 epidemic, e.g.: to refrain from leaving home without an urgent need, and if this has to be done, to keep distance from other people, to avoid touching one’s face, to wear masks where necessary and to properly wash one’s hands.
The other series tells about famous artists and art works that one can reproduce at home when remaining in self-isolation. Thus, for example, the performance by Marina Abramovic and Ulay “The Artist is Present” incites to speak with the family in the kitchen, Henri Matisse suggests drawing in bed, and Andy Warhol invites to order meal delivery to home.
“Art in Quarantine” will be posted on the art centre’s social networks every week.
