Workshop “Soft Touch” with Tamara Turlun
On Wednesday, May 6 at 6:30 PM, as part of the public program of the exhibition “Joy”, artist Tamara Turlun will lead a workshop dedicated to soft forms of memory and inner sources of stability.
The workshop will explore themes from the exhibition: how we build a sense of safety, where we seek stability, and what helps us stay grounded in a constantly changing world. Drawing on her work “Reserve,” presented in the exhibition—where family photographs are transformed into island-like objects of stability—Tamara Turlun will invite participants to think of memories not as images, but as sensations. Warm sunlight on the skin, the texture of fabric, the touch of familiar objects—these are what leave invisible yet recognizable traces.
During the workshop, participants will create a kind of “photo album”—a personal tactile zine. Instead of images, it will consist of materials and textures that embody memories through touch. It will be an attempt to assemble a personal archive of tenderness, care, and joy.
The workshop is for adults. No prior artistic experience is required.
The event will take place on the 5th floor in the educational space of PinchukArtCentre. Participation is free with prior registration. The number of places is limited.
The workshop will be led by Tamara Turlun—an artist, educator, and co-founder of the self-organized space Depot12_59.
