Lecture “The History of Painting: Between Tradition and Transformation”
Painting is the oldest medium of visual art. Despite repeated predictions of its “death,” it has not only remained relevant but continues to actively develop. As part of Lesia Khomenko’s solo exhibition “Imaginary Distance,” we will talk about this classic medium, with which the artist works, testing its limits and transforming images into objects, videos, or installations. During the lecture, we will examine Khomenko’s practice in the broader context of art history and reflect on what “tradition” means in the age of digital technology and artificial intelligence.
The event will take place on Wednesday, September 3, at 6:30 p.m. on the 4th floor of the PinchukArtCentre. Participation is free of charge upon prior registration.
