Workshop “Drawing Memory: Creating a Comic” — DIY Program
What would you choose to keep — important moments or random memories? And what kind of story could they become?
On Thursday, May 14 at 18:30, we invite you to a DIY workshop with artist Tamara Safarova, where we will create a short comic together — from the first idea to a finished piece.
We’ll start by looking at how comics work: how sequences of panels build a narrative, and how simple drawings and text can tell a story. Then we’ll look for ideas in memory, everyday moments, or imagination, and turn them into images using simple visual tools.
The workshop is open to adults, with no prior experience needed.
The event will take place on the 5th floor in the education space of PinchukArtCentre. Duration: 2 hours.
Participation is free, but registration is required as places are limited.
Tamara Safarova is a Ukrainian artist of Azerbaijani origin. She works with drawing, comics, painting, and performance. Her practice explores memory, personal experience, identity, and how stories can be carried through image and body.
DIY Program is a platform for realizing ideas, where people with different backgrounds share what matters to them, and the art center team helps bring those ideas to life. It’s a space for experimentation, collaboration, and meeting people with shared interests.
