PinchukArtCentre announces names of Selection Committee members of PinchukArtCentre Prize 2015

PinchukArtCentre has announced the names of the Selection Committee members who will decide upon the shortlist of candidates for the PinchukArtCentre Prize 2015, a first privately funded nationwide award in contemporary art for young Ukrainian artists up to 35.

Traditionally, members of the Selection Committee formed every two years include Ukrainian art experts and organizers of the Prize. This year among them are Alisa Lozhkina, chief editor of the ART UKRAINE magazine; Olesya Ostrovska-Lyuta, culture expert, curator, senior expert of pro.mova analytical center; Michael Rashkovetsky, art critic and curator; Bjorn Geldhof, Deputy artistic director of the PinchukArtCentre, and Tatiana Kochubinska, junior curator of the PinchukArtCentre.

After closure of Applications the Selection Committee will consider all submitted works and will decide upon 20 candidates for the PinchukArtCentre Prize 2015, announcing their names in June 2015.

Application procedure for the competition has been prolonged till June 7. Please apply via official website of the Prize

Artworks of the shortlisted artists will be presented at the exhibition in the PinchukArtCentre in Kyiv, Ukraine, lasting from October 2015 to January 2016. The winners of the Prize will be announced by the International Jury at the Award Ceremony in December 2015.

The Main Prize, two Special Prizes and the Public Choice Prize will be awarded within the framework of the PinchukArtCentre Prize:

  • The Main Prize is UAH 100 000 and includes internship in the studios of the world leading artists;
  • Two Special Prizes is UAH 25 000 each and include internship in the studios of the world leading artists;
  • The Public Choice Prize is UAH 10 000. The winner of the Public Choice Prize will be determined by votes of the visitors attending the exhibition of the shortlisted artists.

The winner of the Main Prize will be automatically included in the shortlist of the 

Future Generation Art Prize 2014 – an International Art Prize for young artists.

The PinchukArtCentre Prize is a biannual prize awarded to the best Ukrainian artists up to 35, starting from 2009. It is the first privately funded award in Ukraine, aimed at fostering, supporting and developing a new generation of young Ukrainian artists. 

Individual artists, as well as groups of artists with Ukrainian citizenship working with any genre of contemporary art are allowed to participate in the competition. One artist (or a group of artists) may submit from 3 to 7 works. The applications should be submitted according to the PinchukArtCentre Prize Rules. The primary selection shall be performed by the Selection Committee consisting of art centre curators and contemporary art experts. 

Starting from the first edition the PinchukArtCentre Prize attracted more than 3000 applicants from all regions of Ukraine.
