The exhibition was presented for the first time in Europe. From the moment of its foundation in 1991, Elton John’s collection of photographs had been exhibited only once, in the High Museum of Art (Atlanta, Georgia, USA).
The exposition consisted of 148 pieces of art by 24 contemporary photographers, selected by Elton John and his partner, David Furnish. The list of artists, whose works were presented in the PinchukArtCentre, included David LaChapelle, Nan Goldin, Zhang Huan, Sam Taylor Wood, Rineka Dijkstra, Loretta Lux, Ruud Van Empel, Hiroshi Sugimoto and others.
On February 25, 2017 the PinchukArtCentre (Kyiv, Ukraine) will present exhibition of the 21 shortlisted artists for the fourth edition of the Future Generation Art Prize, the first global art prize for artists up to 35, founded by the Victor Pinchuk Foundation in 2009.
