PinchukArtCentre starts new project “PinchukArtCentre Meets Academies”

29 March 2013

On March 28, 2013, the PinchukArtCentre started a new project “PinchukArtCentre Meets Academies” intended to develop a dialogue between art students and the PinchukArtCentre.
As part of this project, the PinchukArtCentre will hold meetings between students/practitioners from Art Academies (Kyiv, Kharkiv, Lviv) and the PinchukArtCentre’s curators. In this format, artists under training get an opportunity to make an artistic statement while the curators get a chance to meet the youngest generation.
Ten graduate students of the National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture were the first participants of the project. They gave presentations of their artistic practices, shared experiences and consulted the art centre’s curators.

The National Academy of Fine Arts and Architecture is a leading higher education art institution of art on in Ukraine. It is a successor of the Ukrainian Academy of Arts founded in 1917. Over the years such prominent artists as Malevich, Tatlin, Krichevsky, Narbut, Boychuk, Yablonska and others graduated from the Academy. Today’s education policy of the Academy has an academic inclination, and the education process is focused on the painting, sculpture, drawing, theatrical scenic painting, architecture, restoration of art objects, art history and arts management.
