Theme Tour “Installation through the prism of oppositions individual/collective, emotions/technology”

On Saturday, June 29, at 17:00 PinchukArtCentre invites all visitors to join a Thematic Tour “Installation through the prism of oppositions individual/collective, emotions/technology”.

A characteristic feature of the contemporary art discourse is the presence of so-called binary oppositions, i.e. controversy strategy, resulting in dualistic works. This theme tour will focus on installations of Chinese artists that embody ideas in the light of an individualistic worldview and collective historical memory. The tour will also deal with emotional content of the artworks presented within “Collection Platform 4: Emotions and technology” exhibition.

The event starts at 17:00 on the 2nd floor of the art centre, reception area. The tour will be guided by Olga Kucheruk, the PinchukArtCentre’s tour guide.

Thematic tours can be arranged on request for schools and universities.

Theme Tour “Contemporary history of China and Ukraine. Points of tangency”

On Sunday, June 30, at 17:00 PinchukArtCentre invites all visitors to join a Thematic Tour “Contemporary history of China and Ukraine. Points of tangency”.

Turbulent social and political developments that took place in the twentieth century on the territory of modern China and Ukraine could not but be embodied in art objects: revolutions, dictatorship, "rewriting" of history, secrecy, etc. Through the example of the works by Sun Xun, Zhang Huan and Xu Zhen which are presented at the exhibition “China China”, the tour participants will explore different tangents in the history of Ukraine and China, and will try to analyze how art reflects these traumatic and painful events.

The event starts at 17:00 on the 2nd floor of the art centre, reception area. The tour will be guided by Serhiy Kuzkov, the PinchukArtCentre’s tour guide.

Thematic tours can be arranged on request for schools and universities.
