On Saturday, December 6, 2014, at 14:00, Chilean artist Pilar Quinteros – one of the shortlisted artists for the Future Generation Art Prize 2014 – will host a master class for 11-12 year-olds entitled “Constructing the space”, as part of the Walking–Talking educational programme.
Master class participants would discuss with Pilar Quinteros her outdoor performance “Fountain of Friendship of Peoples”, an event that took place two weeks ago when the artist presented a cardboard model of the original Fountain, which was removed from Maidan (Independence Square) during construction works in 2001. In addition, children will reflect on the changes in urban space and will think about the value of the urban space for city residents: do they want to keep the heritage of the past, or are they willing to build new space, destroying the old?
During the master class Pilar Quinteros will introduce young participants to her own technique of making architectural forms of cardboard, and will help kids create new art works which then can be taken home.
The event will start at 13:00 on the 2nd floor at the information desk.
Registration is mandatory. Maximum number of children in the group is 10. To register in advance and receive additional information, please use the contact information below:
