The PinchukArtCentre presents “Untitled” project by Michał Budny - the last one-week solo exhibition in the context of Transfer. Transfer is an exchange programme to promote and support new generation of Ukrainian artists abroad and to offer a dynamic view on young Polish art in Ukraine. This is a common project of the PinchukArtCentre and the Centre for Contemporary Art Ujazdowski Castle (Warsaw, Poland).

Michał Budny’s sculptures and installations composed of simple and discreet forms investigate the relationships between material and space, proportions and scale. Created of fragile and at times organic materials his works are undermining the idea of stability, so intrinsic to sculpture and architecture. By suggesting temporariness and fluctuation in return they oscillate between insecurity of material and the steadiness of form.

At the PinchukArtCentre Budny creates a site-specific installation to transform the space and its perception by subtle interventions of adhesive tape, acrylic paint and plastic film, emphasizing yet concealing the qualities of material.

The exhibition is organised and co-curated by Tatiana Kochubinska, participant of the PinchukArtCentre’s Curatorial Platform. The show is open on the 5th floor in the PAC-UA space from 25 until 30 September 2012.

During the opening, Michał Budny and Tatiana Kochubinska will hold an Artist Talk dedicated to Untitled project. It will take place on September 25, 2012, at 18:00 in the PAC-UA space on the 5th floor of the art centre.

One day later, on Wednesday, September 26, 2012, at 19:00, there will be a Final discussion by Anna Łazar, Deputy Director, ІІ Secretary of the Embassy of the Republic of Poland in Ukraine, and Bjorn Geldhof, the Artistic Manager of the PinchukArtCentre, dedicated to the Transfer project and the idea of exchange. The event will take place on the 6th floor at the SkyArtCafe’s video-lounge.

Registration for the lectures is mandatory.
